iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool Contest
What is it?
iPLAYHOCKEY.ca has put together a hockey pool to allow YOU, hockey enthusiasts, the opportunity to enjoy the 2010/11 NHL regular Season and potentially win some amazing prizes. And best of all, it’s completely FREE to play!
How it works
1. Sign up to select your team
2. Choose 1 player in each of our 27 groups in the pick list
3. You can change you picks up until October 10th, 2010 after that they are locked in.
4. Log in to the pool every day to see the stats and standings.
5. The individual who has selected the team with the most points at the end of the regular season wins!
2010/11 Official Rules
1. The Game
The iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool (the "Contest") is an on-line, free to enter game, designed to test one’s own prognostication skills when it comes to predicting the performance of various hockey players on various teams. From all eligible entries received, winners will be determined based on their ability to use their skill and knowledge of hockey teams, players and related rules to accumulate the most Pool Points ("PPs") in accordance with the Scoring System as described below and these Official Rules. The Contest will coincide with the 2010/11 NHL regular season, beginning October 7, 2010 and ending the final day of the NHL regular season April 10th of 2011.
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open only to legal residents of Canada and the United States who have reached the age of majority in their respective province or state. The Contest is void in jurisdictions where prohibited by law or where licensing is required. Employees of IPLAYHOCKEY.ca, or any subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotion or publicity agencies, or members of their immediate families, are not eligible to win. If you are ineligible for the contest, you may play the game and have your place noted in the standings; however you will not be eligible to win a prize.
3. How to Enter
To enter The iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool you must register by correctly completing and submitting the on-line Entry Form -- hereafter named "Entry Form" -- at http://www.pickuphockey.com/iPLAYHOCKEY. MAXIMUM OF FIVE (5) ENTRIES PER HOUSEHOLD. Online entries are accepted at any time before October 10th, 2010 at 11:59 PST
Upon registering you will select a user name and password. Please make a note of your username and password ("Login ID") so you can return to the web site to log in and submit selections, view standings, rules and prize information.
4. How to Play
The objective of The iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool is to accumulate the most number of Pool Points (PPs) based upon the contest Scoring System (see Scoring System below) and in accordance with these Official Rules.
Each team you select will consist of 27 players. YOU MUST SELECT ONE AND ONLY ONE PLAYER FROM EACH OF THE 27 GROUPS.
5. Scoring System
Player Scoring is as follows:
Forwards: Goals - 1 Pool Point, Assists - 1 Pool Point
Defense: Goals - 1 Pool Point, Assists - 1 Pool Point
Goalies: Win - 2 Pool Points, Shutout - 5 Pool Points
6. Standings and Updates
Contest standings are updated daily on the web site at: www.pickuphockey.com/iPLAYHOCKEY. The web site will include player and entrant point totals. All statistics are updated daily, seven days a week.
IMPORTANT: standings are UNOFFICIAL for one week following the conclusion of the 2010/11 NHL regular Season. In the event there is a discrepancy please notify iPLAYHOCKEY.com within the one week Unofficial Standings Period, otherwise the standings will become final and official.
Ties
Pool teams may end up with the same number of points. In case of a tie the following rules will apply:
- Between the pool teams that are tied, the pool team with the most goals will prevail.
- If it is still tied, the pool team that has the most power play goals will prevail.
- If it is still tied, the pool team that has the most shorthanded goals will prevail.
- In the event that the tied winners have chosen the same players, prizes will be divided between the tied entrants.
7. Terms and Conditions
The iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool (the "Contest") is an on-line, free to enter game, designed to test one’s own prognostication skills when it comes to predicting the performance of various hockey players on various teams. From all eligible entries received, winners will be determined based on their ability to use their skill and knowledge of hockey teams, players and related rules to accumulate the most Pool Points ("PPs") in accordance with the Scoring System.
All entry forms become the property of iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com. In any dispute, the decisions of iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com will be final and binding on all parties. iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com and the persons and companies affiliated with this contest, their employees, representatives or agents will not be responsible for human, computer or equipment error, or lost, late, or misdirected entry forms.
All potential grand prize winners will be posted on-line on the Monday following the final game of the 2010/11 NHL regular season. All potential grand prize winners are unofficial for a one week period after final game of the 2010/11 NHL regular season. In the event there is a discrepancy please notify iPLAYHOCKEY.ca at the following e-mail address: info@iplayhockey.ca within the one-week period, otherwise the standings and prize winners will be declared final and official. All taxes and any expenses not indicated herein are the sole responsibility of the winners. Entrants must notify the Contest Administrator of any address change via the Web site. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable in any other service and must be accepted as awarded.
iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com reserve the right to unilaterally disqualify entries. iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com reserve the right to modify contest rules at any time. iPLAYHOCKEY.ca and Pickuphockey.com reserve the right to cancel the contest at any time, without liability. Potential grand prize winners will be contacted within 30 days of the conclusion of The iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool. Potential prize winners must return via regular mail or e-mail an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release within 15 days following attempted notification. The winner of a prize must consent to the use of his/her name and picture for promotional purposes related to this contest. Winners release iPLAYHOCKEY.ca, Pickuphockey.com, and others involved, its advertisers, suppliers and other companies affiliated with this contest, from all liability for all damages or personal injuries in connection with the winner's use of the prize goods and services. By entering the contest you acknowledge agreement of the contest rules. Chances of winning are dependent upon the skill used in selecting your team and the total number of entries received. For the purpose of awarding any of the Grand Prizes it is the sole responsibility of the entrant to inform iPLAYHOCKEY.ca via the above e-mail address by April 17th, 2011 of any discrepancy with his/her player roster.
This site is created and controlled by Pickuphockey.com in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. As such, the laws of the Province of British Columbia, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, shall govern these disclaimers, terms and conditions, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. Pickuphockey.com reserves the right to make changes to its site and these disclaimers, terms and conditions at any time.
The parties have required that this agreement and all documents related hereto be prepared in English. Les parties ont demandé que cette convention ainsi que tous les documents qui s'y rattachent soient rédigés en anglais.
8. Winners and Prizes
Monthly Prizes: There will be one (1) monthly prize issued on the last Friday of each month. Each monthly prize will consist of an official iPLAYHOCKEY.ca fleece and will be distributed to those individuals leading the hockey pool with the most Pool Points for the month("PP").
Grand Prize: There will be three (1) iPLAYHOCKEY.ca Hockey Pool grand prize winners in total. Prizes will be issued on April 23rd, 2011 to the three (3) individuals with the most Pool Points ("PP").
First prize consists of an 32GB iPad with Wi-Fi (approximate value of $649)
Second prize consists of a Nintendo Wii
Third prize consists of an iPLAYHOCKEY.ca fleece, hat and backpack (approximate value$110).
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
